What is Vector Conversion?

Vector Conversion is the art of converting raster images to vector format. Bitmap images are made up of pixels and cannot be scaled up effectively. Vector images are created by the numerical coordinates that are contained within the file. Vector images can be scaled up or down infinitely without the loss of resolution. By comparison with the bitmap files, the vector files are much smaller. Vector image also enable you to change colour and edit individual elements with ease. Vector artwork is simply comprised of lines (wireframe) that represent the objects. Vector images are usually created with the drawing program such as CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator or Freehand.

What are the differences between a printed logo and a web logo?

The printed logo require a much higher resolution and needs to be saved in a certain standard printed formats. Some of the most universal printed formats for print job are TIFF.EPS and AL{illustrator}.

By creating a logo in these file formats, the logo can be opened up and printed even without having the original software application that the logo was created in.

Web logos require a much smaller resolution (since they only need to be displayed on screen).and its quality will appear very blurred or jagged on paper. That is why they are not a good choice for printing.

Which kind of software do you use?

We use Adobe illustrator CS2 and Coreldraw 12 and then return it back to these vector formats.
